Security · SSL / TLS

Every connection,
fully encrypted.

BlueMail uses SSL, TLS and STARTTLS to encrypt every byte that travels between your device and your email provider. TLS 1.2 and above, because your privacy can't compromise on standards. Transport encryption is a core layer of Blue Guard.

SSL/TLS — industry-leading encryption techniques

At BlueMail, we take your security and privacy seriously when it comes to sending and receiving emails through the normal SMTP/IMAP protocols. These protocols, by default, may leave you susceptible to information theft as they lack inherent security measures. That's why we've implemented industry-leading encryption techniques: SSL/TLS and STARTTLS, to safeguard your email protocols.

Three encryption layers

What this actually means.

SSL / TLS

Industry-standard encryption that wraps your entire session (usernames, passwords and message content) in an unreadable envelope.

STARTTLS

Upgrades a plain connection to encrypted mid-session: broadly supported by IMAP, POP3 and SMTP servers across virtually every provider.

Certificate validation

BlueMail validates server certificates by default, protecting you from man-in-the-middle attacks and impostor servers.

Modern security standards

We're committed to staying at the forefront of security standards. We have recently made a significant transition to support TLS 1.2 and above, further strengthening the security of our systems. This upgrade ensures even more robust encryption for your email communications, providing you with enhanced protection — and quietly retires the weaker, older protocols that attackers know how to exploit.

Enhanced privacy and protection

With BlueMail, you can rest easy knowing that all your sent and received data is always encrypted. We continuously strive to enhance security measures, and the adoption of TLS 1.2 and above is part of our ongoing commitment to your privacy and protection. Your email communications remain safe and private, shielded from prying eyes.

BlueMail's dedication

Trust in BlueMail's dedication to your security and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing your sensitive information is protected with the latest encryption technologies. For additional information, visit our Security Center.

Always on, never optional

BlueMail prefers TLS 1.3 wherever available and never silently downgrades to an unencrypted connection. If your server requires a specific configuration, the advanced settings let you tune ports and protocols precisely — without giving up the security defaults.

Connected, securely.

Every device. Every account. Every byte.
