Set up GMX.com
in any email app.
The correct IMAP, POP3 and SMTP settings for GMX.com. Use these with BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or any other mail client.
Instead of using GMX.com's webmail interface, you can use a mobile or desktop email app like BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird. Desktop email apps offer more features, faster access and offline reading. Your messages are right there even without a connection.
How to set up GMX.com in BlueMail
- Get BlueMail. Install BlueMail free on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows or Linux, or open web.bluemail.me in your browser.
- Add your account. Open BlueMail and tap Add Account, then choose Email.
- Sign in with your GMX.com address. Enter your full GMX.com email address and password.
- Let BlueMail find the settings. BlueMail detects the correct GMX.com servers automatically. If you're asked to enter them manually, use the settings below: incoming imap.gmx.com and outgoing mail.gmx.com exactly as listed.
- Done. Your GMX.com inbox appears and stays in sync on every device you sign in on.
First, switch on POP3 and IMAP in GMX
GMX keeps POP3 and IMAP disabled by default. Log in to GMX webmail, open Email Settings, go to POP3 & IMAP and tick Enable access to this account via POP3 and IMAP, then save. GMX switches the setting off again after long periods without an email app connecting, so if sign-in suddenly stops working, check the toggle first. If you use two factor authentication, you'll also need to create an application specific password and use it in place of your normal one.
