Email app passwords · Sky

Sky app passwords
no longer work.

Sky withdrew app-password generation in 2026 — mail apps now sign in with your ordinary Sky iD password. If you're hunting for the app-password screen and can't find it, that's why.

Applies to sky.com addresses.

Step by step

What to do instead.

  1. Use your Sky iD password — the one you sign in to Sky with — as the password in your mail app.
  2. Enter your full @sky.com address as the username.
  3. If an app password you created before 2026 still works, you can keep using it; only creating new ones was withdrawn.

Worth knowing

  • Sky deletes mailboxes that go unused for 12 months or more. Signing in to Sky Yahoo webmail at least every six months keeps the account alive — auto-forwarding does not count as activity.
  • Emails claiming your @sky.com address is closing on a specific date are phishing. Sky has not closed the service.

Using it in BlueMail

Add your Sky address in BlueMail and enter the password from the steps above where it asks for one — BlueMail fills in the server settings for you. Free on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux.
