app specific password.
Telstra rejects your normal account password in mail apps and requires an app specific password generated from Telstra Webmail.
Applies to telstra.com, bigpond.com, bigpond.net.au addresses.
Step by step
How to create your app specific password.
- Sign in to Telstra Webmail in a browser.
- Go to Settings, then Accounts.
- Find the app specific password section and select Generate Password.
- Name it for your device, then copy the generated password.
- Paste it into your mail app in place of your normal password.

- The same servers and credential work for @bigpond.com, @bigpond.net.au and @telstra.com addresses.
