Create a Mail.ru
password for external applications.
Mail.ru requires a dedicated password for external applications on every mail-app connection — with or without two-factor authentication. Your normal account password will never work over IMAP, POP or SMTP.
Applies to mail.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru, bk.ru, internet.ru addresses.

A phone number must be linked to the account before you can create one.
Step by step
How to create your password for external applications.
- Open Mail.ru mail and go to Настройки → Все настройки (settings → all settings).
- Choose Безопасность (security), then Пароли для внешних приложений (passwords for external applications).
- Click Создать (create) and give the password a name.
- Choose the scope — pick «Полный доступ к Почте» (full mail access) for a mail app.
- Copy the generated password and use it in BlueMail with your full address.
Worth knowing
- The password is shown once and can't be viewed again — generate a new one if you lose it.
- The same procedure and servers cover @inbox.ru, @list.ru, @bk.ru and @internet.ru addresses.
