Email setup · Bell

Set up Bell (Sympatico)
in any email app.

The correct IMAP, POP3 and SMTP settings for Bell (Sympatico). Use these with BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or any other mail client.

Instead of using Bell's webmail interface, you can use a mobile or desktop email app like BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird. Desktop email apps offer more features, faster access and offline reading. Your messages are right there even without a connection.

How to set up Bell in BlueMail

  1. Get BlueMail. Install BlueMail free on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows or Linux, or open web.bluemail.me in your browser.
  2. Add your account. Open BlueMail and tap Add Account, then choose Email.
  3. Sign in with your Bell address. Enter your full Bell email address and password.
  4. Let BlueMail find the settings. BlueMail detects the correct Bell servers automatically. If you're asked to enter them manually, use the settings below: incoming imap.bell.net and outgoing smtphm.sympatico.ca exactly as listed.
  5. Done. Your Bell inbox appears and stays in sync on every device you sign in on.

Bell Mail works with your normal password

Bell and Sympatico mail use your full @bell.net or @sympatico.ca address and your regular email password — no app password needed. Two things worth knowing: if sending fails on port 587, try port 25, which Bell documents as its default SMTP port; and Bell restricts mail-app access to roughly a dozen countries (Canada, the US and much of Western Europe) — outside those, use Bell Webmail.
