Set up EarthLink (earthlink.net)
in any email app.
The correct IMAP, POP3 and SMTP settings for EarthLink (earthlink.net). Use these with BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or any other mail client.
Instead of using EarthLink's webmail interface, you can use a mobile or desktop email app like BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird. Desktop email apps offer more features, faster access and offline reading. Your messages are right there even without a connection.
How to set up EarthLink in BlueMail
- Get BlueMail. Install BlueMail free on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows or Linux, or open web.bluemail.me in your browser.
- Add your account. Open BlueMail and tap Add Account, then choose Email.
- Sign in with your EarthLink address. Enter your full EarthLink email address and password.
- Let BlueMail find the settings. BlueMail detects the correct EarthLink servers automatically. If you're asked to enter them manually, use the settings below: incoming imap.earthlink.net and outgoing smtpauth.earthlink.net exactly as listed.
- Done. Your EarthLink inbox appears and stays in sync on every device you sign in on.
Note EarthLink's two odd hostnames
EarthLink mail works with your normal password, but two hostnames trip people up: the outgoing server is smtpauth.earthlink.net — not smtp. — and if you use POP with a legacy domain, the incoming host follows your address (pop.earthlink.net for @earthlink.net, pop.mindspring.com for @mindspring.com, and so on). IMAP is the simpler choice: imap.earthlink.net works for all EarthLink domains.
