Set up Frontier (now Yahoo Mail)
in any email app.
The correct IMAP, POP3 and SMTP settings for Frontier (now Yahoo Mail). Use these with BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or any other mail client.
Instead of using Frontier's webmail interface, you can use a mobile or desktop email app like BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird. Desktop email apps offer more features, faster access and offline reading. Your messages are right there even without a connection.
How to set up Frontier in BlueMail
- Get BlueMail. Install BlueMail free on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows or Linux, or open web.bluemail.me in your browser.
- Add your account. Open BlueMail and tap Add Account, then choose Email.
- Sign in with your Frontier address. Enter your full Frontier email address and password.
- Let BlueMail find the settings. BlueMail detects the correct Frontier servers automatically. If you're asked to enter them manually, use the settings below: incoming imap.mail.yahoo.com and outgoing smtp.mail.yahoo.com exactly as listed.
- Done. Your Frontier inbox appears and stays in sync on every device you sign in on.
Frontier email is now Yahoo Mail
Frontier handed its entire email service to Yahoo in March 2024 — your @frontier.com or @frontiernet.net address now lives on Yahoo's platform, and Frontier itself can no longer help with mail or passwords. The easiest path is to add the address in BlueMail as a Yahoo account. For manual IMAP setup you'll need a Yahoo app password: Yahoo Account Security → Generate and manage app passwords → name the app → use the 16-character code instead of your password. The old imap.frontier.com servers are gone.
