Set up Verizon.net (now AOL Mail)
in any email app.
The correct IMAP, POP3 and SMTP settings for Verizon.net (now AOL Mail). Use these with BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or any other mail client.
Instead of using verizon.net's webmail interface, you can use a mobile or desktop email app like BlueMail, Outlook, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird. Desktop email apps offer more features, faster access and offline reading. Your messages are right there even without a connection.
How to set up verizon.net in BlueMail
- Get BlueMail. Install BlueMail free on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows or Linux, or open web.bluemail.me in your browser.
- Add your account. Open BlueMail and tap Add Account, then choose Email.
- Sign in with your verizon.net address. Enter your full verizon.net email address and password.
- Let BlueMail find the settings. BlueMail detects the correct verizon.net servers automatically. If you're asked to enter them manually, use the settings below: incoming imap.aol.com and outgoing smtp.verizon.net exactly as listed.
- Done. Your verizon.net inbox appears and stays in sync on every device you sign in on.
Verizon email lives on AOL (or Yahoo) now
Verizon retired its own email service in 2017 — @verizon.net addresses kept working only for people who migrated to AOL Mail or Yahoo Mail. If you went to AOL (the common path), use the settings below with an AOL app password: AOL Account Security page → Generate app password → use the one-time code instead of your password. If you migrated to Yahoo instead, use Yahoo's servers (imap.mail.yahoo.com, smtp.mail.yahoo.com) with a Yahoo app password from its Account Security page. And if you never migrated: Verizon deleted all unmigrated mailboxes after December 15, 2017 — the address and its mail can't be recovered.
