Tips
- Enabling avatars makes it easier to spot emails from important contacts at a glance
- Disabling avatars lets you see more emails on screen at once
- Avatars automatically show initials when a profile picture is not available
- For group emails, avatars may show multiple participants or a group icon
- This setting syncs across all your devices using BlueMail
Troubleshooting
Avatars are not showing even with the setting on
- Make sure the setting is enabled in Customize Appearance
- Try scrolling the email list to trigger a refresh
- Check if you are viewing a special screen (like Clusters) that may have different display rules
Avatars show initials instead of photos
- The sender may not have a profile picture set
- Profile pictures require an internet connection to load
- Some email providers do not support contact photos
The email list looks different after changing this setting
- This is expected behavior as the layout adjusts to accommodate or remove avatar space
- Other indicators (like replied/forwarded icons) may appear in different positions
Setting does not sync to other devices
- Ensure cloud sync is enabled
- Check that you are signed in to the same account on all devices
- Allow a few moments for sync to complete
