Split Group Avatars changes how group email conversations appear in your inbox list. When enabled, emails with multiple participants display a combined avatar showing multiple people, making it easy to identify group conversations at a glance. Instead of seeing a single icon, you see a visual representation of the people involved in the conversation.

How to Find

  1. Open BlueMail
  2. Tap the menu icon
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Customize Appearance
  5. Find Split Group Avatars

How to Use

  1. Navigate to the Customize Appearance settings screen
  2. Locate the Split Group Avatars option
  3. Tap the switch to enable or disable the feature
  4. Return to your inbox to see the change

Tips

  • Enable this feature if you frequently participate in group conversations and want to identify them quickly
  • Split avatars make it easier to distinguish between one-on-one emails and group discussions
  • This setting only affects how emails appear in your inbox list, not when reading individual messages
  • The feature works best when your contacts have profile pictures set
  • This setting is device-specific and will not sync to your other devices

Troubleshooting

Split avatars are not appearing for group emails

  • Verify that the setting is enabled in Customize Appearance
  • Make sure you have avatars enabled in your appearance settings
  • The feature only applies to emails with multiple participants

The split avatars look different than expected

  • If contact photos are not available, initials are used instead
  • The display may vary based on how many participants are in the conversation

I want to revert to simple avatars

  • Simply turn off the Split Group Avatars setting
  • Your inbox will immediately show single avatars for all emails

The inbox seems slower with this feature enabled

  • On older devices, rendering multiple avatars may take slightly more resources
  • If you experience performance issues, consider disabling this feature
