Folder Lock lets you protect specific email folders with a PIN or biometric authentication (Face ID/fingerprint). Unlike the main app lock that protects your entire email, Folder Lock gives you targeted security for your most sensitive folders. Keep your financial emails, personal correspondence or confidential work folders locked while other folders remain easily accessible.

How to Find

1. Open BlueMail
2. Tap the menu icon to open the sidebar
3. Tap Settings
4. Tap Privacy or Screen Lock
5. Find the Folder Lock switch

How to Use

1. Navigate to Screen Lock settings as described above
2. Tap the switch to enable Folder Lock
3. If you have not set up a PIN, you will be guided to create one
4. Once enabled, go to any folder you want to protect
5. Access the folder options and select Lock Folder
6. The folder now requires authentication to access

• Use Folder Lock to protect folders with sensitive information
• You can lock multiple folders - each will require authentication
• Folder Lock works separately from the main app lock
• Consider enabling biometrics for faster access to locked folders
• Set an appropriate timeout in the Folder Lock Timeout settings

Troubleshooting

Cannot enable Folder Lock

• You may need to set up a PIN first
• Follow the prompts to create a PIN when enabling

Locked folder not asking for authentication

• Check if the Folder Lock Timeout has not elapsed
• Verify Folder Lock is still enabled in Settings
• Ensure you actually locked the specific folder

Forgot PIN for locked folders

• The PIN is the same as your main screen lock PIN
• If you forgot it, you may need to reset your security settings

Folder Lock option not visible

• Update BlueMail to the latest version
• Check in Privacy or Screen Lock sections of Settings

Want to remove lock from a folder

• Access the folder (authenticate if needed)
• Go to folder options and select Unlock Folder
• The folder will no longer require authentication
