For Windows, Mac & Linux:

  • Create a New Folder: Accesează vizualizarea Folder, apasă iconița „+”, selectează „New”, introduce numele folderului și apasă Enter.

  • Delete a Folder: Accesează vizualizarea Folder, dă clic dreapta pe folderul pe care dorești să-l ștergi și selectează „Delete Folder.” Confirmă apăsând „Yes.”

For Android & iOS:

To Create, Rename, or Delete a Folder, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Select Accounts.
  3. Choose the account you want to manage.
  4. Go to Folder Management.
  5. Then, choose one of the following options under Folder Operations:
    • Create Folder: Enter a folder name and tap OK.
    • Rename Folder: Choose the folder you wish to rename and enter its new name.
    • Delete Folder: Choose the folder you wish to delete and confirm by tapping YES (or cancel the operation by tapping NO).
Setări → Conturi → cont → Gestionarea folderelor

Greyed-out options? Create, Rename and Delete are there for the folders you make yourself, so you can organize your own filing however you like. Inbox, Sent, Drafts and Spam are your provider's own folders — BlueMail keeps them exactly as your provider expects, which is what keeps mail flowing to the right place in every app you read it in.

The same screen has a second section. Below Folder Operations sits Folder Mapping, which creates nothing — it tells BlueMail which of your existing folders to treat as Drafts, Sent, Spam, Trash and Archive. That is what to reach for when sent mail or deleted mail turns up in the wrong place: remap the folder instead of renaming it. See How can I Map my Folders to match my Provider?.

From the Folder Drawer

You do not have to go through Settings at all. Open the Folder Drawer and act on the folder where it sits:

  • On Android & iOS: press and hold the folder's row.
  • On Windows, Mac & Linux: hover over the row and click the ⋯ that appears, or right-click the row.

Both gestures open the same menu — New subfolder, Rename Folder and Delete Folder. It is offered only for the folders under My Folders; the system mailboxes have no row actions, for the same reason they are greyed out in Folder Management. When you create a subfolder this way the parent opens by itself afterwards, so you can see what you have just made.

Creating a Subfolder

You can nest a folder inside an existing one from your phone or tablet — you don't need a desktop for it.

  • On Android & iOS: create the folder as described above, and use a forward slash in the name to define the hierarchy. Entering Folder/Subfolder creates Subfolder inside the existing Folder.
  • On Windows, Mac & Linux: in the Folder view, right-click the parent folder (or use its ⋯) and select New subfolder.

Keep in mind that deleting a folder also deletes every subfolder inside it.

What is the "My Folders" group?

When you open the Folder Drawer — tap your account avatar at the top-left of the screen — the account's folders are listed in groups:

  • Main Folders — the system folders: Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash, Spam, Outbox, and Archive.
  • Group Mail — your Group Mail conversations, if you have any.
  • My Folders — everything else: the custom folders on this account, whether you created them with the steps above or in your provider's web client. A folder that contains subfolders shows an expand arrow next to its name.

So "My Folders" simply means your folders, as opposed to the system ones. The + for creating a folder sits on the My Folders heading, because that is the group it creates into — Main Folders is a fixed set and carries no +. Two things to know about them:

  • Folders other than the Inbox are synchronized when you access them, and a folder you add in BlueMail should keep the same name it has in your webmail.
  • For POP3 accounts, the folders under My Folders are local to your device and do not sync with the server.

Can I move a folder or subfolder?

BlueMail's folder operations are Create, Rename and Delete, so a folder's place in the hierarchy is set when you create it. To put a subfolder somewhere else, either of these gets you there:

  • Do it in your provider's web client. Move the folder in your webmail, and for IMAP and Exchange accounts the change will be reflected in BlueMail.
  • Move the emails instead. Create a folder in the new location (using the / naming above), move the emails into it — with Move in the 3-dot menu or in bulk with Multi Edit — and then delete the old folder.

Note: For IMAP and Exchange accounts, folder changes will sync with your mail server.
