How Do I Translate an Email with GemAI?

תוכן זה אינו זמין עדיין בשפה שלך.

GemAI can translate a message someone else sent you, showing the full text in your own language right inside the email view. This is different from GemAI's other language options, which touch what you're writing or an AI-generated summary — Translate works on the complete text of a message you received.

Translate a received email

  1. Open the email written in another language.
  2. Open the GemAI options in the email view and choose Translate. It sits alongside Summarize (GemAI), and also appears in the message's 3-dot menu.
  3. The Translated Text panel opens with the message translated. The target language is taken from the language BlueMail itself is set to — it is automatic, and there is no picker.
  4. Tap to close the panel and return to the original message.

How this differs from other GemAI language options

BlueMail has two other places where GemAI touches language, and it's easy to confuse them with Translate:

  • GemAI Writer's length/tone/language option changes the language of an email you're composing — it has nothing to do with a message you received. Learn more about GemAI Writer.
  • GemAI Summary returns only a short AI-generated digest, in BlueMail's own language, rather than the full text of the original message. Learn more about GemAI Summary.

Translate is the only one of the three that shows you the complete original message translated in full.

If Translate isn't there

Make sure GemAI is switched on at Settings | Global Settings | Advanced Features | Enable GemAI. Some managed or company accounts have GemAI disabled by an administrator. Translate has no separate switch of its own, and it draws on the same daily allowance as the other GemAI actions — so "You've Hit Your Daily Limit" can appear here too.
