Telekom always requires a separate password for @t-online.de and @magenta.de addresses in any email app other than its own, BlueMail included. It is the Passwort für E-Mail-Programme (password for email programs): you choose it yourself, and the same steps replace a forgotten one.
Steps to Create a T-Online App-Specific Password
- Sign in to Telekom's Kundencenter (customer center) in a web browser with your Telekom Login: telekom.de/mein-magenta-kundencenter.
- Open your profile and select Login-Daten (login details).
- Under Weitere Passwörter (additional passwords), set a new Passwort für E-Mail-Programme. Telekom advises making it different from your Telekom Login password.
- In BlueMail, enter this password instead of your Telekom Login password: when you add the account, or for an account already in BlueMail, under Settings | Accounts | [your account] | Update Password.
