Screening Unknown Senders in BlueMail

Tento obsah zatiaľ nie je dostupný vo vašom jazyku.

BlueMail provides a focused security option that helps you limit incoming messages to trusted sources. This feature is designed to prevent emails from unfamiliar or unusual senders from reaching your inbox, giving you a cleaner and more controlled email experience.

What This Feature Does

When enabled, BlueMail identifies senders who are not already recognized as part of your regular communication. Messages from these unfamiliar or unidentified senders are screened, reducing unwanted contact and lowering exposure to potential risks such as misleading messages or unsolicited outreach.

This option is meant to add an extra level of confidence to your day-to-day email use, especially for users who prefer to keep their inbox restricted to known and verified contacts.

Turning Screening On or Off

You can manage this option under:

Settings | Privacy & Security | Advanced Features | Identification of unusual or unfamiliar senders

Settings → Privacy & Security → Advanced Features → Identification of unusual or unfamiliar senders

This is a single on/off switch, and it applies to all senders. It sits on the Advanced Features screen alongside BlueMail's other protections, the Spam Filter and its strictness level, phishing warnings, and email authentication checks; the Spam Filter and phishing protections are described in Blue Guard.

How Do I Make Sure One Sender Always Gets Through?

Screening covers every unfamiliar sender, which is exactly what makes it dependable, nobody slips past because a rule was missed. So when you want one particular person always delivered, set an allowlist or filter rule with your email provider: it runs on the server before BlueMail receives the message, so it holds in every app you read mail in.

On BlueMail's side, unblocking a sender restores their normal delivery right away. See How to Unblock a Sender?.

What works instead:

  • If their mail lands in Spam because you blocked them: open the message in the Spam folder, tap the 3-dot menu, and choose Unblock Sender. That email moves to your Inbox, and future emails from that address arrive there too. You can also remove the entry under Settings | Accounts | [select the account] | Blocked Senders. See How Do I Manage Spam? and How Do I View/Edit the Block List?.
  • Teach BlueMail's own filtering: mark the sender's messages as Not Spam whenever they are caught. With Learn from my actions turned on (on the same Advanced Features screen), BlueMail improves its local spam detection from the messages you mark as Spam or Not Spam.
  • Make the exception at your provider: add the sender to your Contacts or safe-senders list directly with your email provider, and create a provider-side rule for them, see the steps below. Provider rules run on the server, before BlueMail ever sees the message, so this is the one place a real "never send to spam" exception exists.
  • The blunt option: turn Identification of unusual or unfamiliar senders off entirely. This stops screening for every sender, not just the one you trust.

Keeping One Sender Out of Spam at the Provider

These rules are created in your provider's webmail, in a browser.

For Gmail:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account in a browser.
  2. Click the Gear icon at the top right, then open Settings.
  3. Go to Filters and Blocked Addresses and click Create a new filter.
  4. In the From section, type the email address of the sender that you want to keep out of your Spam folder.
  5. Click Create filter, then check the Never send it to spam and Also apply filter to matching messages boxes.
  6. Click Create filter again.

For Outlook:

  1. Log in to your Outlook on the web (OWA) account.
  2. Click the Gear icon at the top right, then click View All Outlook Settings.
  3. Under Mail, click Rules, then Add new rule.
  4. Give the rule a name, add the From condition with the sender's address, and add the Move to action pointing at the Inbox folder.
  5. Click Save.

Other providers offer similar filter or safe-sender rules in their own webmail settings.
