How to Add Bluewin and Sunrise Accounts

هذا المحتوى غير متوفر بلغتك بعد.

Bluewin and Sunrise don't share settings, and each has a hostname that isn't the obvious one. For bluewin.ch there's a second catch: the password a mail app needs is not your Swisscom Login. Find your address below and use only that block.

Bluewin (Swisscom) — bluewin.ch

Start here: your Swisscom Login password will not work. Bluewin mail programs use a separate e-mail password, set when the address was created. Swisscom states plainly that it "does not correspond to the Swisscom login password". Entering the Swisscom Login is the most common reason a bluewin.ch address won't add.

You can't view the e-mail password — if you don't know it, set a new one. In My Swisscom, open the e-mail settings, where you can customise the e-mail password used by your e-mail programme.

ServerPortSecurity
Incoming (IMAP)imaps.bluewin.ch993SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP)smtpauths.bluewin.ch465SSL/TLS

Note the hostnames. They are imaps (with an s) and smtpauths — not imap.bluewin.ch or smtp.bluewin.ch. Swisscom documents IMAP only, so use IMAP rather than POP3. Your username is your full email address. Swisscom's own instructions: Bluewin IMAP/SMTP settings and Bluewin e-mail problems.

Sunrise — sunrise.ch

ServerPortSecurity
Incoming (IMAP)imap.sunrise.ch993SSL/TLS
Incoming (POP3)pop.sunrise.ch995SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP)smtp2.sunrise.ch465SSL/TLS

The outgoing server is smtp2, not smtp. Sunrise recommends IMAP over POP3. Use your full email address and your email password. Sunrise's own instructions: Sunrise mail.

Where these go in BlueMail

Try the normal sign-in first. On the password screen, Allow BlueMail to auto-detect the server details of your account is ticked by default — leave it ticked and tap Next. If that works, you're done.

If BlueMail can't find the details, enter them by hand:

  1. First account? Tap Continue, type your email address, tap Sign in, then tap Having trouble? Manual Setup under the Sign in button. Already have an account in BlueMail? Go to Settings | Accounts | Add Account.
  2. On the Choose provider screen, tap Manual Setup at the bottom.
  3. Choose IMAP (or POP3).
  4. Fill in the form — it holds the server, Security and Port fields. Pick SSL, TLS in the Security dropdown to match the table above, and use your full email address as the username.

Full walkthrough: Configuring your account manually.

Already added the account and need to correct a value? Its server details are under Settings | Accounts | [tap the account] | Incoming/Outgoing Settings — see Edit Account.
