Apple requires iCloud users (with email addresses like @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com) to generate an app-specific password to sign into their accounts on BlueMail. Your regular Apple Account password, the one you use on your iPhone or Mac, will not work in BlueMail and will be reported as incorrect.
Generating an App-Specific Password
Your Apple Account must be protected with two-factor authentication. Then:
- Sign in to your Apple Account at account.apple.com.
- In the Sign-In and Security section, select App-Specific Passwords.
- Select Generate an app-specific password, then follow the steps on your screen.
For more detail, see Apple's guide: Sign in to apps with your Apple Account using app-specific passwords.
Entering the Password in BlueMail
Open BlueMail, tap Settings | Accounts. Select the account you wish to update, tap Update Password, and enter the new app-specific password exactly as shown.
If BlueMail is already showing Sign-in failed for the account, you can also tap Verify and enter the new password there.
If It Stops Working
Whenever you change or reset your Apple Account password, Apple automatically cancels all of your app-specific passwords. Generate a new one and enter it in BlueMail again, as described above.
