Large photos are the usual reason a message is slow to send or bounces back for size. BlueMail can offer to scale them down for you at the moment you press send, so you keep the convenience of attaching the full-quality original and still send something comfortably small.
To switch it on, go to Settings | Global Settings | Advanced Features, find Ask to adjust images before sending, and toggle it On.
What You See When You Send
Attach an image over 500 KB and BlueMail offers you a choice before the message goes out, on a sheet titled Reduce Message Size:
This message is [size]. You can reduce the message size by scaling images to one of below sizes
- Small
- Medium
- Actual Size, to send the original untouched
Each option shows the resulting message size in brackets, so you can see exactly what you are choosing between rather than guessing.
It Only Asks When It Can Help
BlueMail offers Small or Medium only when that size would genuinely come out smaller than the original. If neither would save anything, which is common with photos that are already compressed, the sheet is skipped and your message simply sends. That way the prompt only ever appears when there is a real choice to make.
