Blue Guard

Blue Guard is BlueMail's email protection, working behind the scenes to keep your inbox safe, clean and protected. It screens incoming mail for suspicious activity, filters spam, checks that senders are who they claim to be, and warns you when a message looks dangerous.

Blue Guard's controls are grouped together at Settings → Privacy & Security → Advanced Features.

The Screener

The Screener is where Blue Guard starts: it decides whether incoming mail is checked for suspicious activity at all. It offers two choices:

  • Suspicious Emails — screening on
  • Disabled — screening off

Spam and phishing protection

The rest of Blue Guard sits in the same Advanced Features list:

  • Spam Filter – when on, suspected emails are moved to Spam. Choose how strict Blue Guard is: Off, Low or High.
  • Email authentication check (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) – verifies that messages pass standard email authentication checks, which helps detect spoofed or forged senders.
  • Identification of unusual or unfamiliar senders – flags mail from senders you have not dealt with before.
  • Show phishing warnings – displays a warning when an email looks suspicious, whether from the sender, the links or the content.
  • Learn from my actions – improves Blue Guard's local spam detection when you mark emails as Spam or Not spam.
  • Reset spam learning data – clears what the spam filter has learned, if you want to start fresh.

Two more controls live in the same Advanced Features list and work alongside Blue Guard:

  • External Content & Tracking – controls remote images and hidden tracking pixels.
  • Attachments & Downloads – see Attachment security.

Blocked Senders is one level up, directly under Settings → Privacy & Security.

For a preset that configures several of these at once, see Email Protection Profiles.
