How to Configure an Account for Only Incoming Mail?

To set up your account to receive only incoming emails, follow these steps:

1. Begin configuring your account by tapping Settings | Accounts | Add Account | Manual Setup | Other Email.
2. Uncheck Automatic for manual configuration and select Next.
3. Choose your account type from IMAP, POP3, Exchange ActiveSync or Exchange EWS.
4. Enter your incoming mail configuration as usual and select Next.
5. For the SMTP (outgoing mail) settings, input “something” – preferably settings from one of your other accounts (Avoid using your own mail server for SMTP).
6. Uncheck Require sign-in and select Next.
