Understanding how folder operations work across different account types is crucial for effective email management.
For IMAP and Exchange Accounts: Folder operations (creating, renaming, or deleting) in BlueMail will synchronize with your mail server. Changes made in BlueMail will reflect on the server.
For POP3 Accounts: Folders are managed locally on your device. Actions like creating, renaming, or deleting a folder will only affect the BlueMail application on your device. Folders in POP3 accounts are local and do not sync with any server.
For Windows, Mac & Linux:
Create a New Folder: Go to the Folder view, tap the “+” icon, select "New," enter the folder name, and press Enter.
Delete a Folder: Go to the Folder view, right-click the folder you wish to delete, and select "Delete Folder." Confirm by tapping “Yes.”
For Android & iOS:
To Create or Delete a Folder, follow these steps:
- Tap Settings.
- Select Accounts.
- Choose the account you want to manage.
- Go to Folder Management.
- Then, choose one of the following options:
- Create Folder: Enter a folder name and tap OK.
- Delete Folder: Choose the folder you wish to delete and confirm by tapping YES (or cancel the operation by tapping NO).
Creating a Subfolder
You can nest a folder inside an existing one from your phone or tablet — you don't need a desktop for it.
- On Android & iOS: create the folder as described above, and use a forward slash in the name to define the hierarchy. Entering
Folder/Subfoldercreates Subfolder inside the existing Folder. - On Windows, Mac & Linux: in the Folder view, right-click the parent folder and select New folder.
Keep in mind that deleting a folder also deletes every subfolder inside it.
Note: For IMAP and Exchange accounts, folder changes will sync with your mail server.
