Saving an Attachment
Tap the download arrow on the attachment, or the Tap to download prompt beneath it, and BlueMail saves the file to your device's Downloads folder.
Using It in Other Apps
Once downloaded, the file is an ordinary file on your device, so every app that handles that file type can open it. Find it in your Files or Downloads app and open it, share it or attach it elsewhere exactly as you would any other download. Nothing stays locked inside BlueMail.
The copy is yours to keep as well. It stays on the device after the email is deleted, and after clearing BlueMail's cache, because saved files are separate from the message they came from.
Keeping Attachments on an SD Card
Where downloads are stored is decided by Android rather than by BlueMail, which is why there is no destination to choose in the app. If space on the device is the concern, two things help:
- Storage usage shows what BlueMail is holding, so you can see whether attachments are actually where your space has gone.
- Moving the app's storage to an SD card covers what Android offers on that front, and how to tell whether your device supports it.
You can also move a downloaded file to an SD card yourself at any time, using your device's own Files app.
