Switching an Exchange Account to ActiveSync

BlueMail's Exchange and Office 365 support includes Calendar and Contact Sync, and those work best over Exchange ActiveSync. If your account was originally set up over Exchange Web Services, adding it again puts it on the better footing.

Check What You Are On Now

There is no need to guess. Go to Settings | Accounts | [select the account] | Protocol and BlueMail tells you which one the account is using. If it already reads ActiveSync, you are set and there is nothing to do.

Add It Again

  1. Remove the existing setup: Settings | Accounts | [select the account] | Remove Account.
  2. Add it back with Add Account | Manual Setup | Exchange.
  3. Enter your email address and password on the Exchange Setup screen, then tap Next.

BlueMail negotiates the connection with your server from there. Once it finishes, the Protocol row confirms what you ended up with.

Your mail lives on the server, so removing the account locally does not delete anything. It all downloads again once the account is back.
