How do I Enable the Lock Screen?

BlueMail allows you to secure your emails using native device security features, plus its own internal lock screen with passcode and fingerprint/Face ID authentication.

Locking BlueMail on iOS 18 (native Face ID)

iOS 18 provides a built-in app locking system that allows you to secure BlueMail using Face ID.

1. Long press the BlueMail app icon: On the Home Screen or App Library, long press the BlueMail icon.
2. Select "Require Face ID": Tap the "Require Face ID" option.
3. Authenticate with Face ID: Use Face ID to confirm the lock.

Once set, anyone trying to open BlueMail will be prompted to authenticate with Face ID, ensuring your emails stay private.

Enabling Passcode and Fingerprint Security (iOS and Android)

BlueMail also provides its own internal lock screen feature that supports both passcode and fingerprint/Face ID security.

1. Navigate to Settings | Privacy and Security | Lock Screen.
2. Tap on Turn passcode on to set up a new passcode.
3. Optionally, enable fingerprint or Face ID authentication if your device supports it and it's already configured in your device settings.
4. You can also adjust the Lock screen timeout setting, which determines the time before the app locks again after being closed.

To enable fingerprint or Face ID security, ensure it's set up in your device's main settings.
