This one is usually quick to clear. BlueMail reports it in the status line of your Mail List View, with the code in brackets:
Unable to connect to server (3011)
It means your device could not reach your provider's mail server. Your mail and your account settings are untouched, so once the connection is back BlueMail picks up where it left off.
What Causes It
The connection between your device and that particular server was unavailable at the moment BlueMail tried. That can be a dropped or unstable network, or an otherwise healthy internet connection that cannot reach your provider's server specifically, which is common on guest, hotel and corporate WiFi.
Three Things That Usually Fix It
- Switch network. Move from WiFi to cellular data, or from cellular data to WiFi. This is the single most effective step, because it takes the problem network out of the picture entirely.
- Try a different WiFi network, if you have one available.
- Restart your device. A restart clears a stuck network stack, which is a more common cause than it sounds.
If It Keeps Coming Back
A code that returns on every network points at the account rather than the connection. Connection Issues, Sync Failures or Missing Emails covers what to check next, and Common Solutions has the first steps for any BlueMail issue.
If the code appears while sending rather than while syncing, see Understanding the SMTP Error Codes.
