Small symbols on an email in the list tell you its state. Which ones you see, and where, depends on whether sender avatars are switched on.
Shown on the sender's avatar
- An unread indicator, in the account's color — see Unread Indication.
- A cluster dot, when the row stands for a Cluster.
- A GemAI icon, when an AI draft or summary is attached to the message.
- A Reply Later or Done indicator, for mail you have snoozed or completed.
Shown instead of the avatar
The replied and forwarded arrows appear only when avatars are turned off and Conversations are off too — they take the avatar's place rather than sitting on it:
- Replied Email — a reply arrow.
- Forwarded Email — a forward arrow.
Shown on the row itself
- A high-priority marker, on emails the sender flagged as important.
