Deleting a contact takes a couple of taps. One thing to know first: BlueMail does not keep an address book of its own — it builds its contact list from addresses you have emailed, your device's contacts, and (for some providers) contacts stored on your provider's side. So if a contact originates on your device or at your provider, it also needs to be removed there to be gone everywhere.
Delete the contact in BlueMail
- Go to Settings | People and open the Contacts tab.
- Tap the 3-dot menu next to the contact you want to remove.
- Choose Delete Contact.

If the contact lives on your device or at your provider
BlueMail syncs contacts from several places and displays them, rather than storing them itself:
- addresses you have sent emails to or received emails from
- your device's contacts, when BlueMail has the Contacts permission
- contacts stored on your provider's side — currently Gmail and Exchange (Exchange on Android; Gmail and Exchange on Windows, Mac and Linux)
A contact that comes from one of those sources still exists at the source after you delete it from BlueMail's list, so remove it there as well:
- A device contact — delete it in your phone's own Contacts app. This is a device step, not a BlueMail one, so the exact labels vary by phone.
- A Google contact — delete it at contacts.google.com or in the Google Contacts app.
- An Exchange or Office 365 contact — delete it in Outlook on the web, or wherever you manage that mailbox's contacts.

If you only want to stop the suggestions
If your goal is just to stop an address being suggested while you compose, you do not need to delete the contact — hide it instead with Hide in Autocomplete in the same 3-dot menu. See How to Remove a Contact From Auto-Complete.
If you don't want BlueMail showing your device contacts at all
On Android, BlueMail lists your device contacts only when it has the Contacts permission, and you control that permission in the device's own settings:
- Open Settings on your device.
- Tap Apps or Applications (the name varies by device).
- Find and tap BlueMail, then go to Permissions.
- Tap Contacts and turn it off.
These are device steps, so the exact labels differ between Android versions.
