How to Add KPN and Ziggo Accounts

Это содержимое пока не доступно на вашем языке.

KPN and Ziggo are the two big Dutch broadband mailboxes, and both run a single set of mail servers behind a long list of old brand domains. When one of these addresses won't add, it is nearly always the server or port, the wrong security setting, or the wrong password.

Find your provider below and use only that block. Every value here comes from the provider's own support page, linked in each section.

KPN — kpnmail.nl, telfort.nl, planet.nl, xs4all.nl

ServerPortSecurity
Incoming (IMAP)imap.kpnmail.nl993SSL/TLS
Incoming (POP3)pop.kpnmail.nl995SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP)smtp.kpnmail.nl587STARTTLS

The same servers cover every KPN address, whatever the domain — kpnmail.nl, telfort.nl, planet.nl, xs4all.nl and the other KPN brands all use imap.kpnmail.nl and smtp.kpnmail.nl. A Telfort address does not get a telfort.nl server. Use your KPN email address and your KPN password; KPN's setup page doesn't ask for an app password. KPN's own instructions: E-mail instellen op je pc of Mac.

Ziggo — ziggo.nl, home.nl, casema.nl, quicknet.nl, chello.nl

ServerPortSecurity
Incoming (IMAP)imap.ziggo.nl993SSL/TLS
Incoming (POP3)pop.ziggo.nl995SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP)smtp.ziggo.nl587STARTTLS

One set of servers for all the old brands too — ziggo.nl, home.nl, casema.nl, quicknet.nl, upcmail.nl, chello.nl and a2000.nl. A home.nl address still uses imap.ziggo.nl.

Sign in with your full email address and your email password — the password for the mailbox itself. If you don't know it, set a new one in Mijn Ziggo. Ziggo's own instructions: IMAP-, POP-, SMTP-instellingen.

Where these go in BlueMail

Try the normal sign-in first. On the password screen, Allow BlueMail to auto-detect the server details of your account is ticked by default — leave it ticked and tap Next. If that works, you're done.

If BlueMail can't find the details, enter them by hand:

  1. First account? Tap Continue, type your email address, tap Sign in, then tap Having trouble? Manual Setup under the Sign in button. Already have an account in BlueMail? Go to Settings | Accounts | Add Account.
  2. On the Choose provider screen, tap Manual Setup at the bottom.
  3. Choose IMAP (or POP3).
  4. Fill in the form — it holds the server, Security and Port fields. Pick SSL, TLS or STARTTLS in the Security dropdown to match the table above, and use your full email address as the username.

Full walkthrough: Configuring your account manually.

Already added the account and need to correct a value? Its server details are under Settings | Accounts | [tap the account] | Incoming/Outgoing Settings — see Edit Account.

If you're with another Dutch provider

KPN and Ziggo are not the only Dutch broadband providers running their own mail servers. We only list settings we could confirm on the provider's own support site — a wrong port is worse than no port at all.

If yours isn't above, get the incoming and outgoing server names, ports and security settings from your provider's own support page, then enter them through Manual Setup exactly as written. Search their help site for "IMAP" or "server settings". While you're there, check two more things: whether they require an app-specific password for mail apps, and whether IMAP access has to be switched on in their webmail first.
