Zoho Mail accounts, personal or on your own domain, need an application-specific password in BlueMail once two-factor authentication is on, or if your organization uses SAML sign-in. Zoho's free plan doesn't include IMAP or POP, so a free Zoho Mail account can't be added to BlueMail.
Steps to Create a Zoho Mail App-Specific Password
- Sign in to Zoho Accounts in a web browser: accounts.zoho.com, or your region's site, such as accounts.zoho.eu or accounts.zoho.in.
- Open Security | App Passwords.
- Select Generate New Password.
- Enter a name, such as BlueMail, and select Generate.
- Copy the password now. Zoho shows it only once.
- In BlueMail, enter this password, without spaces, instead of your normal Zoho password: when you add the account, or for an account already in BlueMail, under Settings | Accounts | [your account] | Update Password.
In Zoho Mail on the web, IMAP Access must also be on: open Settings | Mail Accounts | [your primary address], select the IMAP Access checkbox, then select Save. In an organization, your administrator may have to allow it.
